Are you using your business platform to glorify God? Are you using your business to make a difference in the world?
Those two questions are at the heart of everything I do with the Women Faith + Business podcast, and this week I wanted to pull back the curtain and share the story of how the podcast actually came to be — because I think the journey itself is a testimony to what it looks like to be led by God in business.
The Mission Behind the Microphone
Where It Started: 2020
Why Sharing Your God-Given Message Matters
Part of what I talk about in the episode is the importance of sharing your God-given message — and specifically, the power of doing that through a podcast format. There’s something about audio, about voice, about a sustained conversation rather than a single post, that lets a message unfold in a way other formats don’t always allow.
If you have a message you’ve sensed is God-given, know that the format you share it in matters less than the obedience of actually sharing it. For me, that format turned out to be a podcast. For you, it might be something else entirely.
Getting Help to Launch
Doing the Podcast in Seasons
One of the more unexpected parts of this journey has been what I’d call a spiritual download around doing the podcast in seasons — rather than as one continuous, unchanging show.
God gave me the format, the frequency, and even the guests for each season of the podcast. That’s not something I fully planned out in advance with a content calendar; it unfolded season by season, often just ahead of when I needed it. It’s taught me to hold the podcast loosely — to expect it to shift and evolve rather than staying fixed forever in its original form.
The Importance of Pausing to Ask
Maybe the most important lesson from this whole journey: the importance of stopping and pausing to ask God whether you should continue a project — a podcast, a business, anything you’ve built. Not out of doubt, but out of genuine surrender. Continuing something just because you started it isn’t the same as continuing something because you’re still called to it.
That posture is exactly what opened the door for God to shake up the podcast with new ideas, themes, and concepts along the way — changes I don’t think I would have received if I hadn’t been willing to pause and ask in the first place.
