4 Ways Rest Helps Your Business

ORIGINAL POST 5/12/2020

Recently, our world was required to shelter in place. This was a very new experience for most of us and most of us will never see it again. However, the shelter in place caused us to pause our regular activities. We had to learn new ways to live and work. You can review more about this in last my blog – Collective Pause of 2020.

This week I want to take a look at one of the areas that pausing allows us to focus on…REST. REST is the first part of pausing.

Rest is a crucial factor in business success and it is often overlooked, especially by entrepreneurs. By allowing time to recharge both mentally and physically, rest becomes a powerful tool for business owners.

Take a look at the video or read the summary below to learn 4 Ways REST Can Help Your Business

3 ways like-minded people positively impact your business!

Being a business owner is NOT easy, sometimes the hardest thing can be getting the support you feel you need in order to succeed in business.

In this week’s blog post I focus on how a supportive group of like-minded people can positively impact your business!  Watch the video or read the post below to learn more.

There are several types of business groups that you can join that positively impacts your business.  These include groups like your local chamber of commerce, referral groups like Business Networking International (BNI), and online groups like Facebook Groups and LinkedIn Groups. But for this post I am focusing on ONE type of group that can make a major difference for your business and will help you move forward in business, and that group is an intimate mastermind group with approximately 3-8 members.

A mastermind is a group of people coming together to collectively brainstorm and support each other.  Here are three key things that you get from being involved in an intimate mastermind group:

  1. Support–   Being involved in a mastermind group gives you various support including emotional support, spiritual support, resources, recommendations, etc. It’s a group of people who will be there for you through the ups and downs of your business.
  2. Community–  An intimate group of like-minded, focused, and ambitious people can really help you with your business.  As an entrepreneur or business owner, you’ve taken a different path than most, so getting the support from others who understand your journey and know what you are going through is important.  It helps you to feel less isolated and by yourself and more involved in a group.
  3. Accountability–  A mastermind group helps to hold you accountable to your business goals and action steps.  Accountability is key to moving your business forward especially when you are held accountable to a group, you are more likely to stay on track to meet your goals.

The Power of 90-Day Goals & Plans

90-Day Goals & Plans

When I work with my clients on business goal setting and marketing activity planning, the thought of planning out activity for 12 months can be overwhelming and intimidating for many. So, I shifted from 12-month increments to 6-month increments. Then, I’ve found in working with many entrepreneurs and business owners is that there is POWER  in focusing on 90-Day increments.

When we focus on 3 months/90 Days, it’s less intimidating and easy to manage, so for a while now I’ve really focused on 90-Day business goals and marketing planning with my clients. In fact, I created a planner that’s focused on planning your marketing for 90-Days (shameless plug for my planner, the B.E.S.T. Marketing Planner, a 90 Day Guide to Help You Master Your Marketing and Grow Your Business).

Here a some reasons why setting goals for 90 days and planning for 90 days at a time is SUPER powerful:

Celebrating Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month which gives us the opportunity to remind ourselves of the many accomplishments of women throughout history including our contribution to culture, society, science, politics and my favorite…business!

Did you know that originally Women’s History was marked by one day but has since evolved to a full month?

Here’s 5 fun facts about Women’s History Month.

  1. The first Women’s History Day was held in 1909
  2. The day became Women’s History Week in 1978
  3. In 1987, it became Women’s History Month
  4. Since 1995, every president has issued a proclamation declaring March Women’s History Month
  5. Every Women’s History Month has a theme, this year’s theme is “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope,”

Let’s take time to reflect on the theme this month and think of ways we can provide healing and hope especially during these challenging times in the world.  Also, let’s take the time to celebrate the many accomplishments and achievements that women have made to society and in the world!  Happy Women’s History Month!

Why knowing who you are called to serve is important for your business

Last week, our focus was Mission and the impact of a mission statement on your business.  This week we shall place our focus on how to determine your IDEAL CLIENT AKA who you’re called to serve in the marketplace.  Watch the video below, or read the post to learn why an ideal client profile is important to your business.

I have found that it is difficult for many business owners and entrepreneurs to determine their ideal client. Most believe it is best to attract any client; however, they do not understand that your message does not resonate to everyone.

Key Points to Consider when Determining your Ideal Client:

  1. DEMOGRAPHICS – The description of your ideal client to this includes age, gender, race, income, etc. This helps to determine how you market to the ideal client.
  2. PSYCHOGRAPHICS – What does your ideal client think? What is their personality type? What does your ideal client like? What are they attracted to? What are their social activities? What are their religious preferences?
  3. PROBLEMS – What problems does your ideal client have? Think about all the problems they have that your product or service resolves.
  4. SOLUTIONS – What is your solution for your ideal client’s problem? Focus on being the problem solver instead of making the sell.

If you take these points into consideration when narrowing down who your ideal client is, you will better market your product or service. Ultimately, you will see an increase in your clients and revenue.

Want to get clear on your marketing foundation including your purpose, mission and vision statement so you can attract the people you are called to serve in the marketplace?  Be sure to join me for the Attract the Clients Your Called to Serve 5-Day Marketing Challenge from February 21-25, 2022
