Do you have a database? Do you know what a database is? A database is a list of individuals names, phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information of your partners, prospects, and clients. As you start building this list, it may be in a spreadsheet or document. However, as you grow you will need a system to store and manage your list.
Two Tools to Build Your Database:
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) – this software allows you to manage the individuals in your database. It helps you become more effective and efficient in following up and managing the relationship with your clients, partners, and prospects. Ex: Nimble, Insightly, Active Campaign.
- Email Service Provider (ESP) – this software is a tool to help manage your email marketing. It allows you to create and automate how you want to send messages to your database consistently. Ex: Active Campaign, Ontraport
CRM’s are primarily used from a sales perspective and ESP’s are used from a marketing perspective. These two tools work together to help entrepreneurs and business owners consistently and effectively manage their relationships as well as manage how they market in those relationships.
