How to Plan for Your Success

No matter what marketing strategy you decide to pursue for your business, in order to be successful, your effort CANNOT be random, being successful with marketing requires planning for your success!

November is a great time to get an early start on your Marketing Plan for the next year.  Putting together a Simple Marketing Plan can ensure for a more successful year.  Too many coaches, consultants and entrepreneurs practice Random Acts of Marketing (R.A.M.) with no real strategy or plan for their businesses.

I’m on a mission to help coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs to be less random and more strategic.  In this blog post, I will walk you through a simple strategy for success called The B.E.S.T. Marketing Plan™.  The B.E.S.T. Marketing Plan follows four core marketing strategies for growing your business as a coach or consultant:

  1.  BLOG– 

    As a coach or consultant, it is important to Create, Start or Grow a Business Blog.  A blog is the house for all your AWESOME content.  It’s a way to share with the world your knowledge and expertise.  Whether you decide to have a written word blog, a video blog, or an audio blog, it is important to create a house for your content online, a place where people can connect with your unique content.

    It’s important to decide what your blog looks like, this is usually determined by your brand (how you want to be perceived by your audience) and your target audience (what’s the best way for your ideal customers to receive your content?).  Once you decide on these two things then the next step is to get started or restarted on your business blog and to be CONSISTENT with creating content for your blog.  For tips on staying consistent with your blogging, check out the blog post, How to Stay Consistent With Your Business Blog

  2. EMAIL- 

    Having a list of your clients, prospects, leads, etc. and communicating with those lists via email is a great way to build your business.  There is no denying that email marketing has become less effective over the years, due to the influx of emails we all receive on a daily basis.

    However, there is also no denying that email is still one of the best ways to communicate online.  If you want to get a personalized message to a person the preferred method of reaching that person online would be email.

    As a coach or consultant, using email as a part of your marketing strategy makes sense if you would like to reach your clients, prospects and leads on a CONSISTENT basis so your business stays top of mind with them.  It’s also one of the best ways to communicate what is going on in your business and to offer your products and services.

  3. SOCIAL MEDIA-

    Social media can be a great way to amplify your message and your reach.  You can use social media to share the AWESOME content from your business blog, you can also use social media to help build your email list, so social media really helps you with STEP 1 and 2 of the B.E.S.T. Marketing Plan.

  4. TEXT MESSAGE MARKETING-

    Text message marketing is one of the most underutilized and least used method of marketing your business.  However, as a coach or consultant, you should not overlook this marketing strategy. So many people are using their smart phones to communicate via text message, that it can be one of the most effective ways to reach your clients, prospects, and leads.
