The B.E.S.T. Faith-Based Principles That Actually Grow Your Business

There are countless marketing strategies and tactics out there promising to grow your business — funnels, hooks, algorithms, hacks. Most of them work, at least for a season. But very few of them are actually rooted in something faith-based, something built to hold up regardless of what the algorithm or the market does next.

This week I want to share the handful of marketing principles I consider non-negotiable because they’re faith-based — the B.E.S.T. faith-based marketing principles to grow your business.

B — Belief

Every strategy eventually runs into the same wall: your belief system. If you don’t believe — in God’s calling on your business, in yourself, in your business, and in your product or service — no tactic will carry you past that ceiling for long.

Belief isn’t a soft, optional add-on to your marketing. It’s the filter everything else passes through. The words you write, the offers you make, the confidence with which you show up — all of it is downstream of what you actually believe. Get the belief right, and the strategy gets easier. Skip it, and no strategy will fully compensate.

E — Energy

This might be the principle people expect least on a list of “marketing principles,” but how you manage your energy is absolutely a faith-based principle — and one of the most overlooked.

Marketing from a place of depletion, anxiety, or striving produces different content — and different results — than marketing from a place of peace, alignment, and rest. Your energy shows up in your content whether you intend it to or not. Managing your energy well isn’t separate from your marketing strategy; it’s part of it. Protecting your peace, honoring rest, and staying attuned to when you’re operating from striving versus abiding all directly affect how your marketing lands.

S — Spirit-Led Action

Marketing requires action — but not just any action. Spirit-led action means taking the specific steps you feel led to take, even when they don’t match the conventional playbook, and even before all the uncertainty resolves.

This is the difference between marketing because “everyone says you should post three times a week” and marketing because you’ve actually been led toward a specific message, a specific offer, or a specific person to reach out to. Spirit-led action doesn’t mean inaction while you wait for perfect clarity — it means moving in obedience to what you already sense, one step at a time.

T — Trust

The final principle is trust — specifically, trusting the plan, the process, and the path for your business.

This is often the hardest one to practice, because trust requires releasing control over timelines and outcomes you can’t see yet. Trusting the plan means believing God’s plan for your business is good, even when your own plan would have looked different. Trusting the process means allowing preparation, waiting, and even setbacks to do their work instead of rushing past them. Trusting the path means being willing to walk a route that doesn’t always look like the straight line you expected. And trusting God’s perfect timing which often looks different than ours.

Why These Four Matter More Than Any Tactic

Belief, Energy, Spirit-Led Action, and Trust — none of these are tactics you can implement overnight, and none of them will show up as a line item in a typical marketing course. But I’d argue they matter more than any individual tactic, because they’re the foundation tactics get built on top of. A great strategy without belief, energy, Spirit-led action, and trust behind it will always feel like more effort than it should. The same strategy, built on these four principles, tends to feel like ease and flow instead.

I go much deeper into each of these four principles — with real examples from my own business — on the Women Faith + Business Podcast. You can listen to the full episode here: [The B.E.S.T. Faith-Based Marketing Principles to Help You Grow Your Business]
