4 Ways to Know if Text Message Marketing is Right for Your Business

4 Ways to Know if Text Message Marketing is Right for Your Business If you have been reading my blog for the last couple of years, you will notice that I mainly focus on four core marketing strategies that you can use to become known as an authority or expert in your field and to grow your business.

Those four core strategies are blogging, email marketing, social media marketing, and text message marketing.  All four strategies are long-term marketing strategies which means you have to do them consistently over time before you will reap the benefits and get results.

One of the most overlooked of the four strategies is text message marketing.  This strategy tends to be the one that people are most curious about how they can use it in their marketing mix.

Whenever I post about text message marketing I get the most questions, responses, inquiries.  So why are people so interested in text message marketing,  and so few people are using it?

In this blog post I will look into whether text message marketing is right for your business.  Here are 4 things to consider to figure out if text message marketing is right for your business.

  1.  Do you request cell phone numbers from your clients?
If you are already collecting the cell phone numbers of your clients, with their permission, why not use those numbers to reach your clients on a consistent basis?  Text Message Marketing is one of the most effective ways to reach out to your clients and ensure that they will receive your message.  For a list of statistics that will show you how effective text message marketing is, be sure to check out the blog post, Should You Be Using Text Message Marketing in Your Business?
  2. Do your clients make appointments for your services?
If you have one-on-one consultations, and your clients can schedule appointments to meet with you whether in person or virtually, using an online calendar system that will send text messages to remind your clients that they have an appointment and capitalize on the notification in order to also send marketing messages is a great way to use text message marketing.  For ways on how to use text message marketing for client notifications, be sure to check out the blog post, How to BEST leverage text message marketing
  3. Do you host events for your business?
Using text message marketing before, during and after an event can be a great strategy. Whether you are having an in-person event like a workshop or an online event like a webinar, if your registrants have provided their cell phone numbers as a part of the registration process, you can utilize those numbers to send notifications before the event starts, important announcements during the event, and reminders for any additional steps after the event.  For more information on how to use events to grow your business, be sure to check out the blog post, 9 Types of Events You Can Host to GROW Your business
  4. Do you have special sales or promotions?
If, on occasion, you have special sales or promotions for your business, text message marketing can be a great way to get the word out about your sale or promotion, with a 95% open and read rate for text message marketing, it can be one of the best platforms to use to reach your audience and offer them a good deal.
