  1. Portent’s Content Idea Generator

This tool is good not only for creating a good headline, but also for giving you blog post ideas, so if you are staring at a blank screen, this tool will actually create a title with a content idea for you.  It’s simple, just put in your topic, subject, theme, category, or keyword, and the Generator will create a headline for you.Portent Screen ShotSo for example, my theme for this month is blogging, so I typed “blog” in the idea generator and it came up with the title “The Insider’s Guide to Blogs“, which is a great starting point for a title, I could further adjust the title and make it my own by changing it to read, “The Insider’s Guide to Blogging for Business“, or “The Insider’s Guide to Blogs for Coaches“, etc.  If the first title they give you doesn’t resonate, you can hit the refresh button and the tool will continue to give you fresh new titles you can select from for your topic, so if you are looking to get content ideas and a great headline, check out Portent’s Content Idea Generator.Portent Content Idea Generator

  2.  Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer

If you’ve created your headline, and you would like to analyze how effective your headline is, then the Advanced Marketing Institute’s Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer would be a good tool to use.  You simply enter your headline into the text area, and select the type of business or industry that this headline belongs to, and submit for analysis.Emotinal Marketing Headline Analyzer So for example, I submitted the headline we created above from the Portent’s Content Idea Generator, The Insider’s Guide to Blogs, and it received a EMV score of 20%, the tool explains what that score means, and how the headline compares to  a professional copywriter’s headline (most professional copywriters’ headlines will have 30%-40% EMV Words in their headlines).  It also gives you a predominant emotion classification.  For the headline I used, the predominant emotion classification was “Spiritual“.  The Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer tool is a good tool to use if you want to add more emotion to your headline, and emotion is a good way to attract people to your blog post.

  3. CoSchedule’s Headline Analyzer

Another tool you can use if you already created your headline is the Headline Analyzer by CoSchedule. It helps you to write headlines that drive traffic, shares, and search results.  You simply enter your text in the box, and hit “Analyze Now”CoSchedule headline Analyzer So in the case of the headline we created from the Portent’s Content Idea Generator, The Insider’s Guide to Blogs, when I entered it into the Headline Analyzer, it received a score of 52. The tool analyzes the overall structure, grammar, and readability of your headline, and tells you the headline type.  In this case the headline type was “Generic” and the suggestion was to use a sentence structure that will get your headline more shares.  The tool also goes on to tell you how many common, uncommon, emotional, and power words you are using in your headline and gives you headline tips, which can help you craft a better headline.CosSchedule Headline Analyzer
