  1. “How to” Headlines

How to headlines are great because no matter what industry you are in, people want to know “How to” do things, so creating content around the major “How to’s” in your industry and promoting that blog post is a great way to generate traffic to your blog. For example, if you are a health coach you could have “How to eat healthy on a budget”, “How to create a healthy meal plan for your family”, “How to add more healthy foods to your diet”, “How to make tasty healthy meals for your family”, etc.  Think about what your ideal clients are most interested in learning about, and create blog posts that answer those key questions.  The great thing about your posts is that they can live on your website, so they can continuously create traffic to your website.

  2. List Headlines

An example of a list headline is the headline for this blog post, “Top 3 Types of Headlines that Generate Traffic to your Blog”, people love to read lists of helpful tips, tools or techniques.  Think about what is most important to your ideal client, and create some list posts that have a list of solutions for their problems.  For example, if you are a business consultant that works with companies to help them to be more productive, you could come up with the following list posts, “5 Ways to add more time to your day”, “Top 3 ways to become more productive”, “7 Productivity tools that can increase your daily productivity”, “50 things you can do in 90 days to become a more productive team”,etc.  The opportunity to create valuable lists that your audience will be interested in reading is endless.

  3. Question Headlines

Questions naturally make us want to think of the answer, so having headline questions of questions that would peak the curiosity of your ideal audience is a great way to generate traffic to your blog.  For example, if you are a dating coach you could ask questions like, “What is the best way to find your ideal partner?”, “Do you know where the #1 place is to meet eligible single men?”, “Why are you still single?”, “Is marriage for everyone?”, etc.  Think about the questions that are probably going through your ideal clients head, and create blog posts that answer those questions.  This can be a great way to drive traffic to your website.
