3 Reasons to Host a LIVE Event to Grow Your Business

In my last post, I talked about 3 reasons to attend live events to grow your business.  Those reasons included gaining insight, making connections, and finding out about opportunities.

All of these reasons are great and can help to grow your business, but if you want to take it a step further, you might want to consider hosting your own event.  In this post, I share 3 reasons why hosting your own live event can help to grow your business.

I recently hosted my first retreat, the Leading Ladies in Business Mind & Body Retreat.  It was a great event and something that I was THINKING about doing for years, and after months of PLANNING it finally MANIFESTED last month.  See pic from the event:

I’ve hosted other events before, the Purpose, Profit and Passion Conference, Power Business Brunches, etc. , so I’ve learned a lot of lessons about hosting events, and I learned a lot about why hosting an event can be a good marketing strategy for your business.

Here are three reasons to host a LIVE event to grow your business:

  1.  Leadership

There are probably tons of people who do what you do, but only a small percentage will actually take the time, effort and energy to put together a live event to serve their audience.  When you step up to be an event host, you are stepping up to a role of a leader within your industry.  As the host of an event you are looked at as the leader, whether you bring together a group of speakers or you are the main person who will be presenting/speaking at the event, hosting your own live event allows you to be seen as a leader in your field, and people want to do business with leaders.

  2. Expertise

Hosting your own event helps you to be seen as not only a leader, but also an expert.  Especially if you take time out in the event to share your expertise with the audience.  Each event host may have a different strategy as to whether they want to speak at their event or not, but if you choose to speak it’s a great opportunity to share your expertise with a live audience who will look at you as the expert.  People want to do business with people who are experts in their field.

  3. Community

When you bring people together you are creating a community of like-minded people who have taken the time out to come together with others for personal development and overall growth.  People like and thrive in community, and they appreciate people who create communities that bring like-minded people together, so you will be appreciated for your efforts in creating an environment where people can come together in person to gain insight make connections, and get access to opportunities.

No matter what type of event you plan to host, a conference, workshop, seminar, retreat, etc., ALL events are HARD WORK.  However, the benefits of hosting these events, including being known as a leader, expert and community builder can be beneficial for you and the growth of your business.
